Welcome to English 242’s Intertexuality Research Compilation!
This is a site created by students of the Spring 2019 semester to provide our composed knowledge of intertextuality and some important historical figures who have practiced and developed intertexuality.
Simply put, intertexuality is the relationship, influence, and continuation of texts among authors of the same and/or different time periods. We have seen intertexuality informally in many forms of genre, from mythologies to fables to historical fiction. Intertexuality is important to recognize because it brings awareness to the justification of praise towards infamous writers who base their success on originality, meanwhile predecessors have most likely contributed to their work.
